The National Trust's Llanercheron country house estate in the Aeron Valley was recently transformed into a home for 18 individuals who stepped back in time to 1910. Y Plas on S4C showed how they coped with life upstairs and downstairs.
The location of Y Plas on S4C is the National Trust owned estate of Llanerchaeron, a rare example of a self-sufficient 18th-century Welsh minor gentry estate that has survived virtually unaltered. The house, designed by John Nash in the 1790s, has its own service courtyard with dairy, laundry, brewery and salting house, and there are walled kitchen gardens, a range of traditional farm buildings and a working farm with Welsh Black cattle, Llanwenog sheep and rare Welsh pigs.
Llanercheron is normally open throughout the year and has facilities for a range of activities from cycle hire to geocaching, as well as events, from apple week to food, craft and Christmas fairs. Check our events listing for events at Llanercheron and others happening across Ceredigion.
