Borth beach

Because of its shallow waters and fabulous three mile expanse of golden sand, Borth's Blue Flag and Seaside Award winning beach is particularly popular with surfers, kite surfers and families with young children.

Borth Beach - Discover Ceredigion

Borth Beach

Borth is surrounded by protected sites of natural beauty with truly outstanding views on all sides. In particular, the peat bog 'Cors Goch Fochno' is one of the very best in Britain. As part of the only UNESCO Biosphere reserve in Wales, the Dyfi Biosphere, is a must see in Ceredigion. Also check out the Dyfi National Nature Reserve and visitors' centre at Ynyslas.

Borth has also had royal attention. When a student of Aberystwyth University in 1969, HRH The Prince of Wales enjoyed swimming and surfing at Borth. He is not the only one. Today students, locals and holiday makers enjoy the fabulous three mile expanse of golden sands.

At the northern end of the beach is an ancient sunken forest, that is exposed at low tide and is a spectacle not to be missed. Look at the Ceredigion tide tables for the best times to visit.
