Make Ceredigion your base for a great mountain biking experience. Aberystwyth is convenient not only for Bwlch Nant yr Arian but is also almost equidistant to the two other premier forestry mountain biking sites of Coed y Brenin, Brechfa Forest and the Elan Valley.
A new purpose-built 'pump track' was opened at Bwlch Nant yr Arian in 2017 by locally based world champion mountainbiker Rachel Atherton. The track has a number of loops with 'rollers' and 'table tops' - features that riders of all abilities can have have a go at, practice their skills or just warm up before taking to the longer trails which start from the same spot near the visitor centre.
Explore the wild and remote tracks and trails of the Cambrian Mountains with a guide, or try out the well marked and popular trails at Bwlch Nant yr Arian where the trails include:
Pendam trail - a 9km single track with some technically challenging sections.
Summit Trail - a 16 km roller coaster experience.
Syfydrin Trail - a 35 km wilderness trail over high open hills in exposed and remote countryside - the ultimate mountain biking experience.
Some of Ceredigion's bridleways are also suitable for mountain biking.
