Darllen yn GymraegExplore the real landscapes of Hinterland
Hinterland / Y Gwyll used Aberystwyth and northern Ceredigion to create its distinctive detective-drama setting. The seafront, dunes, wooded gorges and former mining communities offer a varied visit beyond the screen. Follow the real landscape and its public routes; a fictional setting or filming address is not a guarantee of public access.
Make a landscape-led visit
Combine the coast with valley walks and mountain-road viewpoints. Remember that screen locations may be private properties, and buildings were sometimes dressed for filming. Enjoy public places and permitted paths without assuming a filming location is a visitor attraction.
