Discover Henry Richard's life and peace campaigning

Henry Richard was born in Tregaron in 1812 and became a minister, peace campaigner and Member of Parliament for Merthyr Tydfil. His public work earned him the name Apostle of Peace. The statue in Tregaron provides a starting point for exploring how a life rooted in rural Ceredigion reached international debates.

Tregaron and Soar y Mynydd

A statue in central Tregaron commemorates his work. His father, Ebenezer Richard, helped establish the remote chapel at Soar y Mynydd for farming families and people travelling through the uplands.
