Darllen yn GymraegDiscover Borth's beach and submerged forest
Borth's long shore is backed by the village, with a shingle ridge and a wider area of sand exposed at low tide. Ancient tree remains are sometimes visible on the beach, but their exposure varies. These physical remains are distinct from the legend of Cantre'r Gwaelod, which has become associated with this coastline.
Towards the Dyfi estuary
The dunes at Ynyslas form a distinctive habitat beside the estuary. Follow designated routes to enjoy the grasses, changing light and views towards Aberdyfi without damaging sensitive dune vegetation.
Choose your visit carefully
Use current tide and safety information when planning time on the shore. Strong currents make the estuary unsuitable for casual swimming; follow local signs and advice on the day.
