Explore Llanrhystud's open shingle coast

Llanrhystud's beach occupies a more open stretch of coast than the steep-sided coves farther south. Shingle dominates at high tide, with sand exposed as the water falls. Combine a shore walk with the village and the coast path, checking tides and current access information rather than assuming the whole beach is always available.

Birds, rivers and lime kilns

Several small rivers meet around the village before reaching the sea. Coastal fields attract birds, while old lime kilns to the south recall the transport of agricultural materials by boat.

Explore the village too

St Rhystud's Church retains connections with an older place of worship, including its historic font. Combine village history with a shore walk, checking tides and local activity guidance before heading onto the beach.
